The plot becomes extremely intense when the man, who now calls himself Sweeney Todd, comes back after 15 years, picks up his old trade, and promises to exact revenge for his false imprisonment. His instrument not only shaves, but also kills! That's right, you read that correctly: murder. Eventually, the bodies are sent down to Mrs. Lovett, who uses them in her meat-pie business and sells them to unwary Londoners.
Sweeney's thirst for blood won't be satisfied until he slits the judge's throat, even though many fall to his blade. This play is excellent in every way. You expect this one to give you the time of your life thanks to a fantastic tale and the most astounding visuals and props on the planet, but sadly, like everything this brilliant, there is always a drawback: tickets are selling out quickly.
