Be exceedingly cautious whenever selecting the place to have your hair done. Having surpassed four decades since his first appearance, Sweeney Todd comes back to shave heads and slash throats at the notorious Lunt-fontanne Theatre on Saturday 20th January 2024.

"A spellbinding revival with substantial chuckles and serious frights. Witness the tale–you will not be disappointed." - Entertainment Weekly.

Yet again, The Myth of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street nurtures a fresh generation of inquisitive minds with a two-hour, 45-minute presentation of deadly actions shrouded in the darkness of a pre-Victorian London. Participate as an accomplice to the homicidal pair of barber and pie shop owner in an unsettling and comically distorted narrative teeming with gothic stages, enchanting dance moves, and sinister tunes performed by a real-time orchestra composed of 26 instrumentalists.

Featuring Josh Groban in the role of Sweeney Todd and Annaleigh Ashford taking on the role of Mrs. Lovett, the spectacle proudly exhibits exceptional on-stage skills in modern Broadway.

The grand staging of this musical terror includes director Thomas Kail, famous for his direction on Hamilton, with Hugh Wheeler's initial script and the triumphant comeback of Stephen Sondheim's acclaimed score, containing songs like “A Little Priest” and “Green Finch and Linnet Bird.” Joining them are some of the theater world's most seasoned creatives operating behind the curtains.

In a recent conversation earlier this year, leading actor Annaleigh Ashford talked about her deep admiration for the original Mrs. Lovett, Broadway legend Angela Lansbury.

"I forever hoped of becoming Angela Lansbury as I grew older, because she embodied the penultimate character actress. She possessed the skill to find comedy and life, as well as humanity within each and every character she portrayed… She performed during an era when the prevailing influence was the male-dominated society, and she coped with elegance and affection… Every instance I encountered her — our paths crossed thrice — I shed tears in an awkward that was embarrassing enough for me to retreat."

Quench your thirst for excitement on Saturday 20th January 2024 as Sweeney Todd: The Malevolent Barber of Fleet Street makes his dramatic entrance at the stately Lunt-fontanne Theatre, situated in the heart of New York.
