You see, there is this evil judge who imprisons a London barber to Australia for a crime he did not commit because of his pining for the attractive wife of said barber.
The story-line becomes extremely powerful when the man, who now calls himself Sweeney Todd, returns after 15 years, picks up his old trade, and promises to exact revenge for his false imprisonment. His blade not only shaves, but also kills! That's right, you read that correctly: murder. Eventually, the bodies are sent down to Mrs. Lovett, who uses them in her meat-pie shop and sells them to unwary Londoners.
Sweeney's want for blood won't be satisfied until he slits the judge's throat, even though many die to his blade. This theater production is excellent in every way.
